Each year we devote time to both on and off-site programming. During the warmer months the Sanctuary is open to the public on Saturdays but throughout the week, on weekends and during the rest of the year we take our birds to the parks, to public events, to service clubs and many other places in Door, Kewaunee and Brown County. Check out our schedule below for out currently booked events and keep tuning in as we will continue to update periodically with new offerings. If you are interested in having us do a program for you, we have included some of our structured program offerings as well.

Look for our exciting 2018 Program Schedule … coming soon!

Below was our full schedule of hours we were open in 2017, as well as various Door County festivals and events that we were at over the summer. This should give you a fairly good idea until we finalize our schedule for this coming season.

General Raptor Program Information

We invite you to experience the world of raptors with an educating and entertaining program from Open Door Bird Sanctuary. Edutainment, as we call it, gives us the opportunity to bring the hidden aspects of nature a little closer while at the same time inspiring wonder and awe.

Our general offering consists of 3 structured programs, however, programs can be tailored to fit your needs and give you the optimal experience, so please don’t hesitate to make a special request! Our programming can take place at your location or you can make a field trip to the Sanctuary, weather permitting. At ODBS, you can not only enjoy a program, but see additional exhibit birds and enjoy 34 acres of pristine Door County landscape with several interesting and easy walking trails. Fees for a field trip package will be on a per package basis. You can also take advantage of our picnic area and various interactive things out on the trails.

In addition to our structured programs, we offer more informal programming called a Meet n’ Greet that can run from 1-5 hours at your location. Again, we can tailor these to your needs. These are more casual, typically without seating. Groups of people move in and out of the area where we are exhibiting birds.
