Volunteering at ODBS is loads of fun whether you are behind the scenes, talking to the crowds or working with the birds, there is something for everyone.  Generally we have 4 groups of volunteers and many people participate in more than one group:

Raptor Team: these people make a commitment of one 3 hour shift a week for a minimum of one year to take care of our birds and train to become a bird handler. Raptor team members help educate the public and hold birds in programs

Education Team: these people love our birds but don’t work them weekly and don’t handle them but they do educate the public in our various type of programs

Land Stewards: these people mainly do property maintenance and projects and may not have much interaction with the public.

Administrative: social media, book keeping, membership work, grant writing

We are always looking for new volunteers and you may have a skill we could use that doesn’t fit into the groups above. If you are interested in helping at Open Door Bird Sanctuary, let’s talk, we will find a place for you!
